A Movie Buff Birthday Boy

Hubby is a movie fanatic. So when I thought about a birthday party theme for him, it was a no brainer.

We are in the midst of planning a Movie buff/Hollywood/Oscars themed party. So beginning with the invites. Ta da!

Pinspiration from here : http://dabblesandbabbles.com/family-movie-night-free-printable/

Watch this space, more ideas coming along....

Lego Favor boxes

I went through this stage in my life where I LOOOVVVEED Legos. Then I had kids, and I bought them Legos. And then I HATED Legos. They found themselves under sofas, behind cupboards, and any other place which require me to go on all fours and retrieve them.

Now Legos and me are on a Cold War basis. We keep out of each others way. As best as we can. The kids love it.

So these favour boxes are dedicated to them. To my kiddos, without whom I would have finished making these boxes a few hours earlier ;)

These Lego favour boxes would be awesome for a Lego party. Can do Lego invites too.

The size and colour can be customised. In fact, these boxes/bag/invites would brighten up any party!

Say thank you with with flowers and chocolate...

    • grateful
      ˈgreɪtfʊl,-f(ə)l/
      adjective
      1. feeling or showing an appreciation for something done or received.
"I'm grateful to you for all your help"
        synonyms:thankful, filled with gratitude, appreciative;
        • archaic
received or experienced with gratitude; welcome.
          "the grateful shade"

Feeling grateful for something in your life? Need to say thank you to someone?

Do it with a simple thank you gift. To brighten up their day.

This is something I made for a lovely client of mine. She wanted customised thank-you envelopes with gift tags.

The envelopes were made for to size. Enough to accommodate two little gifts. Scroll down to see what!

Each envelope had a Hersheys bar and a handmade flower with a funky 'straw' stem and leaf on them. Because hey, chocolate and flowers never fails to impress right?

I took this shot after I finished doing the flowers and was waiting for the glue to dry and I had to keep the flowers upright. They make a happy picture don't they?

Baby Shower Diaper Invites

I know the title of this post is a little intriguing and you all must be wondering, does she mean a diaper cake, because she sure as hell cannot make an actual invitation from diapers.

But what I meant were these uber-cute diaper invitations for a baby shower. Can I get an "Awwwww"?

I ran out of satin ribbon and made do with regular ribbon. But for classy effect, I'll be using satin ribbon. Cos a baby and his Mom deserve the best :)

The invitations can be opened and there is enough space to write/print out your invitation, or a thank you note if you're using these as a favour tag.

They can be used for a baby shower or a gender reveal party or...ahem....learning how to put on a diaper the correct way for your firstborn ;)

Ballerina Cupcake Toppers

I have 2 sons. And on most days, when people ask me if I want a daughter, I can honestly say I don't.

Except on the days, when I see a chubby toddler girl with curls and a pink bow. Or when I hear a Mom telling me she's planning a pink ballerina birthday party for her little girl. And I feel slightly miffed I can't creep in pink into any of my son's birthday parties.

Pink and tutus and princess parties are a little cliche these days. But hey, just because something is cliche, doesn't make it any less gorgeous :)

Aren't these ballerina cupcake toppers just precious?
Stick a bunch of these on cupcakes, or party nibbles and instantly jazz up your party food.

These are a little time consuming to make, but I am liking the overall look and that pretty flair in the tutu skirt.

These are customisable to whatever colour you like. They can be used for a little girl's birthday, or a baby girl's shower, or a bridal get together.

Fathers Day Gifts

When I was growing up, there was no Fathers Day or Mothers Day awareness.  Parents just 'parented' their little wards day and night. They got appreciation in the form of a hug or a kiss, sometimes. And sometimes, well sometimes, it was what it was :)

With Fathers Day around the corner, June 15th to be exact, I though I'd create these cute lil macho Father figure gift sleeves. To celebrate the Dad, the breadwinner, the pillar of every family, the one who helps you escape Mom's wrath :)

Come on admit it, you smiled a little when you saw these. They can be opened and there is a space for a hand-written note from you, and a place to stick the gift card. It simple and classy.

Can be customised to different colours.

For enquiries, please call/SMS/Whatsapp me at 94872617. You can also drop me an email to maria.francis@gmail.com

If you have bought a gift for your Dad, skip the traditional packaging this time and get him one of these uber-stylish customised envelopes. They are "Tie-rific" !!! ;)

The envelope in the pic is A4 sized. Envelope size can be customised to any regular envelope size. And colours can be customised too.

For enquiries, please call/SMS/Whatsapp me at 94872617. You can also drop me an email to maria.francis@gmail.com

Or go all minimalistic, and present him with a 'shirt-card', with a little surprise in the pocket. Enough space for a gift card in there. Or a note or card from you.

These can be customised too.

A 'Roar-some' Animal Party

My toddler is crazy about 'aminals' right now. Since the theme offered a lot of variety, I had a lot of fun planning his Animal/Zoo/Safari Birthday Party in February 2014.

Here are the pop-up invitations. Pull the puppy's tongue and his ears pop out!

Origami butterfly art on one wall.

A tiger print wreath for the door.

Animal banner.....

Owl garland and the 'zoo' wall.

Slithering snakes around the curtains, tiger and zebra print lanterns and tiny standing animals too!
The Aquarium Wall also served as a great photo backdrop for the guests.

Jungle vines

A panda tissue box. Isn't that cute or what?
Walking Penguin juice boxes anyone? :)
The favours included these elephant whistles. Watch the trunks grow long as you blow!

 "Whoos Hungry" menu :)

Olive penguins with cream cheese filling and tiny little carrot feet and beaks.

Cherry tomato ladybirds on cucumber leaves.

Animals crossing the celery 'bridges'

Sausage octopuses

Snakey grapes

Caterpillar sandwiches

Each child went back with a monkey favour bag filled with these adorable owl candy bags and the elephant whistles.

Rainbow Birthday Party

I organised a Rainbow Birthday Party for my 1 year old in 2013. It was a relatively new theme at the time. And decorations and cake and food was hard to come by. That's when I decided to plan and execute my party from scratch.

I had a rainbow balloon garland by the window and hanging cardboard rainbows from the ceiling, interspersed by cotton 'clouds'.

A photo backdrop with balloons and streamers.

A crepe rainbow with a pot o'gold at the end :)

Rainbow invitations

Rainbow cake. Not baked by me, if you wondered :)

Rainbow jello

Rainbow ice cubes...yo!

Personalised rainbow disposable cups. Sure to bring a smile on everyones face.

Rainbow cutlery stand

Not a great view. But we were in a hurry and didn't take sufficient pics. On the table, was the rainbow fruit platter with marshmallow clouds. And marshmallow M&M pops to go with the theme.

Goodie bags. I had rainbow coloured packs of sketch pens in the bags.

A lil Photoshop magic with my kiddos.. sigh missing my chubby 1 year old :(
